3.96 Remove Existing Bleed

1. Introduction

The Fixup Remove Existing Bleed is available in the Workflow. The purpose of this Fixup is to remove an existing Bleed.

2. General

The Fixup Remove Existing Bleed can be used to remove an existing Bleed, for example to create a desired unprinted border around the Print Item.

You can find this Fixup on the tab Data Preparation of an Article, Order or Production Job by:

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the area Filter,
  • activating the option Color in the area Category,
  • activating the option Delete in the area Action,
  • activating the option Bleed in the area Property.

3. Description

Use this Fixup to remove an existing Bleed. For example, an unprinted white border around the Print Item can be removed, or a new Bleed can be created using a suitable method.

3.1. Prerequisites and Functionality

For the Fixup to perform as intended, the following requirement must be met:

  • Print Item has a visible Bleed and not just a BleedBox.

No further options can be selected.

3.2. Before/After

To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Remove Existing Bleed.pdf". The file has a size of 100 x 100 mm and a Bleed of 10 mm. This Bleed should now be removed.

After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Remove Existing Bleed_End.pdf" is created. The Bleed has been completely removed.
