3.89 Mirror the Print Item on the Short Edge

1. Introduction

The Fixup Mirror the Print Item on the Short Edge is available in the Workflow. The purpose of this Fixup is to mirror the entire image on the short edge. This results in the long edge of the Print Item being doubled.

2. General

The Fixup Mirror the Print Item on the Short Edge can be used to mirror the entire Print Item on the Short Edge. This doubles the long edge of the Print Item.

You can find this Fixup on the tab Data Preparation of an Article, Order or Production Job by:

  • entering the name of the Fixup in the area Filter,
  • activating the option Page Content in the area Category,
  • activating the option Impose, Transform or Mirror in the area Action.

3. Description

Use this Fixup to mirror the short edge (width for portrait format, length for landscape format) of the Print Item. This doubles the long edge of the file. In this way, a 100 x 100 mm file ultimately becomes a 100 x 200 mm file.

3.1. Prerequisites and Functionality

For the Fixup to perform as intended, no special requirements need to be met.

No further options can be selected.

3.2. Before/After

To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Sample_Mirror Print Item on the Short Edge.pdf". The file has a size of 100 x 100 mm. The file is to be mirrored on the short edge of the Print Item.

After applying the Fixup, the file "Sample_Mirro Print Item on the Short Edge_End.pdf" is created. The short edge of the Print Item has been mirrored, with the result that the long edge of the Print Item has doubled in size.
