1. Introduction
The Fixup Hide Selected Layers is available in the Workflow. The purpose of this Fixup is to hide certain layers with all objects on them and thereby change the appearance of the Print Item.
2. General
Use this Fixup, for example, to hide all objects on a selected layer. As a result, only the printable content will remain visible.
You can find the Fixup in the footer of the sections Document Information and User-defined Fields in the Fixup group Manage Layers of an Article, Order resp. Production Job or in the tab Data Preparation .
3. Description
With this Fixup, currently visible layers and all objects on them can be hidden in the PDF-file. To hide one or more layers, simply select the name of the respective layer. Note that only the selected layers are hidden; the objects on these layers remain in the PDF. The file size will not be reduced.
3.1. Prerequisites and Functionality
For this Fixup to perform as intended, the following requirements must be met:
- The Print Item has several layers.
- Individual layers of the Print Item must be visible.

Select the layer that should be hidden by clicking on the selection menu [1]. This Fixup allows you to hide several layers at the same time. To do this, select another layer from the selection menu.
3.2. Before/After
To experiment with this function, refer to the sample file "Layer_Sample.pdf". The sample file contains six layers, of which two layers are hidden and four layers are visible.
After applying the Fixup, the file "Layer_Sample_End2.pdf" is created, where the Layer Marks and Bleed and the layer Background have been hidden.
