In this article, you will learn
- which prerequisites must be met for offline activation and
- which steps are necessary.
1. Introduction
Offline activation is used to activate a license for a workstation that does not have an Internet connection. The user data required for activation can be generated directly in the application's login dialog. This payload is then uploaded to the authorization server and activated there.
After successful activation, the license is available for download and installation on the local system.
Functionality of the application after 30 days
Please note that if the application cannot reach the authorization server within 30 days, the application's functionality will be disabled. Without activating the license or importing a current license, the Workflow can no longer be operated. For information on how offline licensing works, see the article Offline Licensing.
2. Requirements
In order for a license to be imported and activated offline, a few requirements must be met:
- The installation of the application must have been completed on the corresponding hardware. Find out how to do this in the article Installing the application.
- You have a
WCLID file
, which you will receive upon purchasing a license.
Information about the WCLID file
Each license has a corresponding WCLID file. This file is not the actual license, but merely the key to your license. It entitles you to automatically organize the license on any Workstation.
No personal data is stored in the WCLID file. Only the following information is visible:
- Hardware ID
- Maintenance contract ID
- Private key
- URL to the authorization server
- OEM partner ID
Important: Keep the WCLID file in a safe place. If the file falls into unauthorized hands, it can only be used to attempt to transfer a license. However, a license transfer must be authorized by someone at your OEM partner.
3. Activating the License Offline
After completing the installation of the Workflow and importing the WCLID file during installation, you must perform the following steps:
3.1. Step 1: Go to the Login Page
- Open the Chrome browser on the Workstation and enter the corresponding address http://127.0.0.1:8081/pms/v2/#/login.
- This will take you to the login dialog. The Workflow can be used for 30 days without activating the license.

- Click License Info [1] to open the License Information dialog.
The following information is available in this dialog:
- Package [2] – displays the licensed base package
- Workstation ID [3] – used to uniquely identify the Workstation. If you are prompted to enter the Workstation ID, you can copy the long entry to the clipboard by clicking on the icon [12].
- Workstation Status [4] – after installation, the license is set to the status Install. The Workflow is now fully operational for 30 days, in accordance with the licensed packages. Activation can be performed immediately, but is not required!
- Product Version [5] – the installed version of the application is displayed here.
- UA Server [6] – the status of the authorization server should change to Online after installation. If the UA server is not accessible, this may be due to a port in the firewall not being enabled or the workstation not being able to connect to the Internet. In this case, the status Offline is displayed.
- Expiry Date [7] and Maintenance Expiry Date [8] – both pieces of information are not available until activation has taken place.
- Upload WCLID [9] – in case the WCLID file changes slightly, it can be manually re-uploaded here.

- As the licensee, decide when to activate the license by clicking Activate license [10]. Please note that you will not be able to log in to the Workflow 30 days after the WCLID file has been imported for the first time! You have to activate the license by then at the latest. In case the UA server cannot be reached, you will have to activate the license online.
- To activate offline, click the Download Payload [11] button to start the operation. This will download a file (payload for the workstation).
Step 2: Upload User Data to the UA Server
- Open the URL https://ua.wfc.durst-group.com in the browser of a computer connected to the Internet.
- Move the previously loaded file (payload) from your local computer to the drop zone [13] in the browser.
- After moving the file to the drop zone, the upload will start automatically.

Step 3: Activating the License
- After uploading, you will be given the option to activate the license.
- Press Activate License [14] to activate the license.

Step 4: Import License into Workflow
