1. Introduction
Normalizing print data ensures that print files are consistently and accurately prepared for production. Automatic checking and adjustment to internal standards allows sources of error to be detected and eliminated at an early stage. This ensures that print data from different sources is standardized and optimally prepared for printing. With the option of exporting and importing Check-in Preflight and Fixup Templates, they can also be used on other workstations without having to recreate them.
2. Check-in Preflight and Fixup Templates
As soon as a Check-in Preflight and Fixup Template has been provided with the desired Fixups and/or Checks and all the necessary parameters, the saved template can be exported. This means that it is then available for other Workflows.
The export process creates a file with the extension ptbtemplate
. This file contains all the necessary information about the exported template and can now be used to import the template into other Workflows.

3. Import Check-in Preflight and Fixup Templates
The exported Check-in Preflight and Fixup Template can only be imported into other Workflows. However, the following points should be noted:
- If a Check-in Preflight and Fixup Template with exactly the same name already exists in the Workflow, the template can still be imported. However, make sure that the names are unique so that the templates can be distinguished from one another.
- Each template has a unique GUID (Globally Unique Identifier a unique number) in the background. If a template already has the same GUID, the import is prevented.
To import a Check-in Preflight and Fixup Template, proceed as follows:
- Select Administration > Settings > Preflight / Fixup > Check-in Preflight and Fixup Templates.
- Now select More Functions [4] and then Import [5]. This opens a dialog.
- Then load the previously exported Check-in Preflight and Fixup Template by either clicking on the dialog or by dragging and dropping the file.
- Click on Import [6] to complete the import.
- The imported template is now displayed in the list of all templates.
