Updated on

In this article, you will learn:

  • which prerequisites are required for the installation,
  • which steps are required to perform the installation,
  • how to set up a printing environment in the Device Connector.

1. Introduction

To operate a printer via the Workflow application, the corresponding Device Connector must be set up within the application. Before connecting external printers to the existing Workflow application, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • A workstation running Windows 11 must be available.
  • Administrator access is required to perform the installation.
  • Workflow version 1.21.2 or higher must be installed.
  • The latest Device Connector installer must be available.
  • A valid login for the Device Connector license server must be available. You can register at https://license.ergosoft.net/. Instructions for the necessary steps can be found in this video.

Installation may only begin once all the above prerequisites have been fulfilled.

Contact your service partner!

If you have any questions about licensing, the Workflow version in use, or the installation files, don't hesitate to contact your designated service partner before starting the installation.

Updates

When updating the Device Connector using the installer, the existing installation is first uninstalled and then reinstalled.

Therefore, make sure to use the same installation paths in the installer. Only when the same paths are specified is it possible that existing configurations, such as previously created printing environments, are preserved.
